Through the book "To Kill A Mockingbird" Atticus's level minded and calm personality really showed, and helped Jem and Scout keep there cool most of the times. Atticus's calm and level minded personality really stood out after he lost the case to Mr.Ewell that he should of one, and he knew it. After the case was over he kept his cool and said something to Mr.Robinson then simply walked out of the court room. Not only that, when he finally met up with a very mad Jem and Scout (rightfully so) he stayed calm and told them "you win some and you lose some". Now after all the hard work he had put into this case, all the long hours, to lose it (which shouldn't of happened) he stayed calm even deep down inside we knew he was mad and it was eating at him but he still kept his cool at the worst time. This is why I believe, I know, Atticus is a noble character because his level minded and calm personality kept Jem and Scout out of trouble and really gave them a role model to look up to,which was huge in the lives of both Jem and Scout because there mother had died at a young age so Atticus had to not only play to father role but the mother role as well.

I agree. I also think that Atticus is a very important character and being noble heavily effects the children. Jem chose Atticus as his role model, and he emulates him throughout the novel. Jem and Scout have different personality traits, but that is important to the story line because children take after their parents. Atticus’ relationship with his children is very unique. He lets them call him by his name. Atticus is always busy with his work, but somehow he finds the time and patience to explain the intricacies of human nature to his children. He teaches them, mentors them, and he has especially had a part in Jem's maturing. Atticus is a fantastic role model and is truthful and it is clear he loves his kids. It is also important to have a noble or a better term would be a calm presence in a story, because the character always has an impact in so way and balances everything out.

I also agree with you. Atticus played a huge role in the book and supported Jem and Scout. As you said he was a role model for both Jem and Scout and he taught them to do the right thing. Even in a tough situation Atticus still managed to stay calm because he knew that his children looked up to him because he was the only parent they had and he did not want to set a bad example.

I personally think many of the times when Atticus kept his cool was just for the Jem and Scout, so he could set a good example. If a baseball player strikes out, they usually wait until they are in the dugout if they are going to get angry and throw things, that way the spectators and fielders and parents, at our age, don't see it all. Atticus could have very well gotten angry after he knew the kids were asleep or gone.

I agree with Zach as well. Atticus has a very calm manner and he is a very important role model to both Jem and Scout. He cares about his children very much even though it sometimes seems as though he lets them go off to do whatever they please. He often lets he Jem and Scout learn for themselves and guides them whenever they need help. This also shows his relaxed parenting style.

I agree with the general thread but I think that even if Scout and Jem's mother was still alive during the novel, Atticus would behave much the same, because he is a single father he might be more aware of the impact he has on his children, but if his wife was still alive his nobility would still be prevalent.
